Insecticide Resistance Management

Known under various umbrella names – Resistenza Italiana, Resistenza Partigiana and Second Risorgimento – the organized Italian Resistance began its fight as far back as 1921.

The People’s Squads Were First

The earliest anti-fascist faction was the Arditi del Popolo (People’s Squads). Formed by some 20,000 former soldiers, anarchists, communists, Catholics, republicans, socialists and unionists the squads main goal was to challenge the emerging Fascist Party and its thugs, the Black shirts.

But, from the very start, there were divisions in the opposition groups. Neither the official Italian Socialist or Communist parties approved of the Arditi. The Communists Party in particular was displeased over the inclusion of individuals with other ideologists in the Arditi and went as far as to order its members to leave the squads. However, there were those within the established Communist Party that did support the squads.
